Transport

There are a range of options for getting to Comberton Sixth Form, but in the majority of cases students are responsible for organising and paying for their transport. Only students from low income families will qualify for subsidised travel. If you qualify for help, and live in the Comberton catchment area, the council will allocate you a seat on one of their buses. If you live elsewhere, but in a designated Comberton Sixth Form catchment village, the council will ask us to allocate you a seat on our bus but you will need to pay them the reduced rate. To see if you qualify, please click here.

The 16-19 Bursary Fund can also be used to help pay for transport costs. This is administered by Comberton Sixth Form and more information on eligibility and application can be found by clicking here

Travel by bicycle

Students traveling to school by bicycle should lock it up in one of the designated cycle sheds located near the technology department, by the squash courts or at either end of the Comberton Sports and Arts building. The school cannot accept responsibility for cycles or any equipment on them.
Cycles must be in a roadworthy condition with working brakes and correctly inflated tyres. We strongly recommend your child wears a helmet while riding their bike and that they have lights fitted, particularly in winter. Cycling is not allowed on the college grounds except to and from the cycle sheds and, with permission, during PE lessons.

Travel by car

Students can travel to Comberton Sixth Form by car. Parents/carers should drop off and collect their children from the car park in front of the Comberton Sports and Arts building. A drop-off lane exists in the mornings up to 08.30 and collect after 3pm.

Sixth form students that have passed their driving tests may park in the sixth form designated car park, this is located at the back on the school. Before they can drive on site, students are required to provide us with details of car MOT, insurance, driving licence and pay £5 for their permit. This can be done via ParentPay or bringing cash into the admin office.  Students are required to adhere to all conditions of the permit at all times whilst driving on the school site.

Please fill in the form using clicking here

Travel by Moped or Motorbike

Students who travel by moped or motorbike will need to apply for a permit the same way as a car by filling in the form by clicking here

There is a designated bay at the front of sixth form for motorbikes and mopeds to be parked. Correct clothing and safety equipment must be worn at all times. We have a lockers that are big enough to hold a helmet (first come, first served).
